For our first commercial assignment of the year we had to photography dairy, for my project I decided to photograph a small wheel of cheese that I picked up from Whole Foods. For the picture I really wanted the light to be really dramatic so I used one light source and it made for some really hard light on the cheese which brought out the texture very well on the cheese. I really enjoyed this experience in the studio because it was our first assignment I really got to play around and figure out what I really wanted the picture to look like. I also learned to push yourself to change up the picture and play because I went in the studio with an idea of what I wanted and it wasn’t going so well and I was getting burnt out on that idea so once I decided to play that’s when I got the image I really liked and wanted to use, which is this one.
